Plans after CVCS: University of New Hampshire

Hello friends!

The past 40 (!!) years have taken me through a variety of careers -- teacher, then mother/homemaker (that more-or-less continues), community arts organizer, then a seven year stint as a peace activist running a statewide organization. Eventually I went back to school, got my masters in library/information studies, and now run the library in my home town-- Plymouth, NH. After commuting 45 miles for many years, it's a delight to be able to walk to work.

I have three children. Sarah, my oldest, just earned her doctorate and is teaching at Allegheny College in PA. Abby is married, and lives in southern NH; both she and her husband work in the insurance industry. Jonathan, my youngest, graduated from UNH (my alma mater) last year -- took a chunk of time to travel, and has since pieced together make-do jobs while he tries to get on a career path. Tough job market. I remarried two years ago; my first marriage ended in divorce after twenty plus years. Generally, I would recommend that as a trip to avoid! Ed has two children and four grandchildren -- so between all our kids, a foster son, and extended families, and various community activities we are kept busy. Ed retired from full-time work a couple of years ago -- and now teaches part-time for the community college system. We live near NH's White Mountains, and in the lakes region -- hiking and canoeing are favorite day-off activities, though they sure don't seem to happen often enough!

It has been a full forty years -- not without it's challenges, but with many more ups than downs!

I'm sorry to not be joining you all for the reunion -- and look forward to getting the class "booklet". My best to you all!

Kathy
