Plans after CVCS: Lehigh University

Wow! Ten years since our 40th reunion. I can't believe it.

First of all, I want to thank God for continuing to bless me and my family with good health and happiness.

Nancy and I have been married for 47 years. We still enjoy traveling. We try to take several road trips a year within the Unites States. We also try to travel out of the country at least once a year. Our last trip was at the end of December 2011 and early January 2012. We went to Cuba and Mexico with the College of Lake County. After seeing the living conditions and infrastructure of Cuba, we realize how blessed we are to be living in the United States.

We are still involved with the Special Olympics as swimming coaches. We participate in many activities with the Illinois Viper Club. We are fortunate to have many friends with whom we participate in many different activities.

I am still managing my apartment buildings. Because they are located in a relatively small area in Chicago, I am able to manage them by myself, one full time worker and a group of great subcontractors. I enjoy the business. I do not have plans on retiring any time soon.

Nancy retired about twelve years ago when we moved to Libertyville. She is very active in several organizations. She runs our entire household, which gives me the freedom to manage my business. However, her main joy is spending time with our grandchildren.

Speaking of grandchildren, we now have seven of them. We are fortunate that our children still live close to our house. Consequently, we are all able to get together at our house or theirs. Sometimes they sleep overnight at our house. As anyone knows who has grandchildren, we are always attending parties and sporting events. We enjoy every minute spent with them.

Nancy and I are blessed to have wonderful children and grandchildren. Our two daughters live close to one another. Therefore, their children attend the same grade school.

Cindy, our oldest daughter, is a substitute teacher and lunch mom at the school. She is also a hairdresser, working out of her house. Her client base keeps getting larger as she meets more children and their parents at the school. She likes her school positions because she is able to see her children and her nieces and nephews each day. Bob, Cindy's husband, is a Buffalo Grove policeman. He received his Master's Degree several years ago. He wants to start teaching when he retires from the police department in one or two years.

Debbie, our middle child, is a Nursing Professor at the College of Lake County. She has been a nurse for many years, but always wanted to teach. Therefore, after she obtained her Masters Degree, she applied to the college. She was accepted. She received tenure last year. After a divorce several years ago, she remarried in June of 2011. Her husband, Roy, works for Abbott Labs in the global security department. He is a wonderful husband and a great father to his three stepchildren.

Dan, our youngest, is presently a stay at home dad. Dan and Jen both received their Master Degrees several years ago. Dan was working for the Aon Corporation. After the birth of their second child, they decided that it would be best for the children if Dan raised them until they are in school. Jen has and excellent job in Chicago. Because Dan is still able to manage his income properties and do computer consulting at home, he opted for the stay at home position. He is a wonderful father.

Nancy and I are looking forward to the upcoming 50th reunion. It has been ten years since we saw many of my classmates. It will be great to reminisce again.
