After highschool, my family moved to Hillsborough, NC, allowing my DAD to
finish his doctorate program at Duke University. I attended Bucknell University and graduated with a degree in Biology. Then on to Duke University Medical School for another four years of training. That was followed by a residency program in pediatrics, and medicine in the University of North Carolina system, here in (my adopted) hometown of Wilmington, NC. I've had a private practice since May, 1970, initially as a moonlighter. It became a permanent arrangement in May, 1971 as a solo family doctor. I met and married Ginny Knott (another Duke graduate) in 1969. We have been fortunate to have four children, who are grown, and on their own. Ginny owns a software company, specializing in solid-waste (garbage). She is from Halifax County, North Carolina. |
