On June 21st Marie Jones was welcomed to heaven and reunited with her parents James and Joan Bruet. She also joined her oldest brother Michael Bruet and her first husband James Broughton.
Marie was surrounded by her passionate family at the time of her passing. She is survived by her husband Jerry Jones, her sons James (Carrie) and John (Daniele), her grandchildren Brittney (Ian), Jamie (Zack), Megan, Josh (Victoria), Jordan, Nick (Andrea), Jarrod (Lindy), and Graydon. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren Nora, Rhea, Eyla, Cora and Clara along with her sister-in-law, Kathy Bruet, brother Dan Bruet (MaryAnn), sister Elizabeth Foley (John), brothers Marty Bruet (Patty), Chuck Bruet (Ann) and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Marie spent her life lending her compassion and love to her family. She worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield for many years but her true calling was devotion to her family and friends. She was the first person to show up at every family function and usually the last to leave to ensure she captured every moment. She was no joke! Marie was married and in love with her first husband, James Broughton for 33 years before his death in 1996. She then found love again with Jerry and spent 26 years together living life to the fullest. Most people are lucky to find that kind of love once and Marie was able to strike gold twice, a testament to who she was as a person. Our family wants to extend gratitude to everyone who helped keep her home until her last days, which she thought was sacred. We also wish to thank Dr. Martin, MaryAnn, Connie, and Katie. She passed with dignity thanks to the amazing aides and Hospice nurses. We are forever grateful. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 9am at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Hillcrest. Private burial service immediately following at Calvary Cemetery.
