Plans after CVCS: Marywood College

After raising three children and seeing them launched successfully on their own, Jim (my husband of 34 years) and I are enjoying his retirement and my flexible work schedule. Jim worked as a civil engineer throughout his career, and came out of retirement briefly last Fall to do some consulting through SEMO/FEMA in New York City after 9/11.

I went into business for myself three years ago after being a media rep for a large publisher for over 16 years. (Before that I did some teaching.) As an independant contractor, I am affiliated with several publishing houses for sales and consulting. I have a few people working for me around New York State and locally which enables me to do some leisure traveling and spend part of our winters in Florida. (As this reunion takes place, Jim and I are pursuing par on a few golf courses in Ireland!)

When I'm no longer having fun with my work, I'll know it's time to retire. For now I feel very fortunate to have what I consider to be the best of both worlds.
