Bio as of September 11, 2012:
Graduated from USAF Academy in 1966.
Married Karen, a New Jersey native and graduate of Colorado Women’s College, after graduation/commissioning (two days afterward—we didn’t want to rush into it!).
Served 29 years in USAF as fighter pilot, logistician, Pentagon staffer, and commander/manager (14 moves to 12 different bases).
In 1995, retired from military after serving in the highest colonel’s position within Headquarters USAF (Pentagon).
Moved to small town in western North Carolina in 1996.
Karen and I live on a lake in a private community in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, and traveling extensively in our motorhome. Some of those travels take us to our daughter and her family in the Virginia suburbs of DC; and our son and his family near Atlanta. (Total grandkids: six.)
Neither of us work for pay, but we both volunteer for the Forest Service in our local national forest. I am also involved with a couple of other non-profit organizations
that keep me busy. My current avocation is acting on film rather than the stage: As of September 2012, I’m about halfway through a year-long series of screen acting courses, and have been in a couple of short films and promotional videos. (The photo below is my current “professional” headshot for resumes and auditions.)
We have a large guest suite with a great view of the lake, including our dock 30 feet away—if you’d like a vacation in the mountains, e-mail me! (Andy and Rose Cullen once visited us here.)
Current Hometown: Brevard NC
